COURSE DESCRIPTION

APM 101 — Precision Machining I  (5 cr)

Fundamental manual machining skills and knowledge required for machining and advanced manufacturing success. Includes advanced manufacturing, standardized manufacturing in aerospace, job plans and drawings, precision tolerances, application and use of manual tools including saws, drills, lathes, mills, and grinders. Covers basic materials identification, offload and secondary bench operations, sawing material with excess, part finishing utilizing filing, deburr and rotary tools, part marking (steel stamping), threading by hand and hole finishing.
